March | Cashew KitchenSitter för närvarande uppkrupen på en hög caféstol på J&N med en havrecappuccino nära till hands, dörren är öppen så att den friska vårluften strömmar in, Amason spelas i högtalarna. Stämningen är lugn, tiden mitt emellan morgonkafferushen och lunchkafferushen. Efter att ha spenderat 4 hela dagar på sommarstället över påsken är jag lugnare än vad jag varit på länge. Jag försöker ta med mig det lugnet in i storstadspulsen, och hålla kvar vid det så länge som möjligt. Här strålar solen och folk promenerar med öppna jackor. Där massiva sekelskiftsfasader blockerar stormvindarna kan vi sitta på rensopade uteserveringar och dra på oss solglajjorna, vända ansiktet mot värmen och känna att våren är här, trots att det fortfarande bara är Mars. Leriga fält och brunt gräs är långt borta. Också tranornas skrik och de första blåsipporna. Naturen tar längre tid på sig än vad vi gör. Vi är alldeles för otåliga.-I'm currently propped up on a high chair at J&N, one of my favorite cafés in Stockholm, with an oat cappuccino within reach and the door open to let the brisk spring air in and Amason in the speakers. The mood is easygoing, in between morning coffee rush and lunch coffee rush. After having spent 4 days at my summer house over Easter I feel calmer than I've been in a long time. I'm trying to bring that harmony into the city pulse, let it linger as long as possible. Here the sun is shining and people are walking outside with open coats. Where thick turn-of-the-century facades are blocking the storm winds we can have our coffee outside, around small café tables on the pavement, put on our sun glasses and turn our faces towards the warming light and feel like spring is here for real now, even though it's only March. Muddy fields and brown grass is far away. Also the sound of cranes and the first spring flowers. Nature takes longer than we do. Det är vinden som gör det tror jag. Och den råa, fuktiga luften i skogen. Men jag älskar det ändå. Alla dofterna! Små tecken i naturen. Fika på trappen, fastän både mössan och halsduken måste vara med för att det ska gå. Precis lika mycket älskar jag hur Stockholm vaknar till liv den här tiden på året. Espressomaskinerna går varma och promenadstråken fylls av fingervantar, solbrillor och take away-muggar. En och annan lokalbryggd folköl på bryggan längs Årstaviken. Hipsterlivet i ett nötskal. Var jag än bor i framtiden så kommer jag nog alltid sakna antingen det ena eller det andra.-During Easter we put on full winter clothing when going outside, despite warmer temperatures and some days bright sunlight. It's the wind I think. And the raw, damp air in the forest. But I love it anyway! All the smells. The little signs in nature. Coffee and cake break outside on the porch, even if both beanie and knitted scarf need to follow to make it durable. Just as much I love how Stockholm awakens this time of year. All the popular parks and green paths fills up with people wearing sunglasses and thinner gloves around take away coffee cups. An occasional locally brewn light beer on the docks along Årstaviken. Hipster life in a nut shell. Wherever I live in the future I think I will always miss either one of these lifestyles. March | Cashew KitchenTänk om vi kunde starta en liten by på landet, som hade allt det där. Naturen nära med stora trädgårdar och odlingar, men också ett litet café, ett ölbryggeri, loppis, konstgalleri och jämnåriga grannar. Där alla delar med sig av sina färdigheter och nördiga intressen. Det finns säkert massa sådana platser (ca alla småstäder) men jag vill att det ska vara vårt eget, byggt från en räcka fallfärdiga hus. Vem är på? ;-)Längst ner hittar du som vanligt allt göttigt från internet jag samlat på mig under månaden!-What if we would start a small village in the country side that had all of those things? Nature close and big gardens, but also a small café, a brewery, flee market, art gallery and neighbors in the same age as us. Where everybody can share their skills and nerdy interests. I'm sure there's plenty of places like that (like every single smalltown) but I want it to be ours, built from a bunch of rundown houses. I'm a big fan of chickpeas in general too, so will give this recipe a go soon!
