Wow. Attempting to launch a new blog and travel to a food photography workshop in Italy on the same week (and coming down with the flu on top of that) was intense, to say the least.
Starting fresh with a brand new site and also going on this *amazing* food blogger retreat in Italy has really sparked my creativity. I feel completely exhausted, yet burning with ideas and energy! Over the last few days, I feel like I’ve grown more as a photographer and as a person than I’ve done in a year.
Seriously guys, there’s no end to what we can create! Sure, I have a couple of limitations in my life, financial ones especially, but I’ve come to realize that I can experience everything that I’m dreaming of regardless of that. Circumstances are never gonna be perfectly aligned. But you just go ahead and dive into it anyway. Feverish and tired and broke and everything.
Back to the new blog design. My plan was to make a bigger deal out of the launch, with Instagram and Facebook posts and a preview for my email subscribers. But as I ran into some technical issues last minute before going to Florence, the launch had to happen quietly, until I knew everything was up and running. Now everything should work as usual, but if you find any broken links or images that are not displaying properly, let me know will you? <3
That said, I am SO HAPPY with the result! I finally feel like this space is reflecting how I feel about Cashew Kitchen and what I want Cashew Kitchen to be in the future. That is, a place for thoughtful writings and beautiful food & nature photography with an inspiring and dreamy, Scandinavian touch to it. I like my blog designs minimal yet personal, so that the images can really shine.
Would you be interested in reading about the details on moving from a wordpress.com blog to a self hosted wordpress.org site? Let me know and I can create a post for those of you who are thinking about upgrading your blogs!
Some new features include:
- A recipe index (finally!!!)
- A thorough description of how I work with sponsored posts and the like, both for you readers and for future clients. If you have any thoughts or concerns about this, send me an email and we’ll talk about it.
- An email sign up form in the sidebar (if you haven’t taken my food styling course yet – check it out!)
- “Heart it” – If you like a post you can click the little heart at the top & bottom of each post. That way I know which type of content you love and wanna see more of.
I have a couple of more features in the pipeline, but for now I leave you to explore the basics :-) To get back to the blog roll, just click the Cashew Kitchen logo.
The photos in this post are from my trip to Florence last weekend. I have so. many. photos. and stories from this trip, so rest assure, there will be blog posts about it! :’D
Now all I wanna do is brew a big pot of tea and begin sorting and editing it all, so that I can share the photos with you as soon as possible. I should probably rest, but my mind is still set on hyper creative mode ;-)
I hope you’ve had a nice week so far. Speak soon <3
All photographs, recipes and content are Cashew Kitchen originals, unless otherwise indicated. Feel free to go wild on pinning, but always link back here and credit Cashew Kitchen when sharing. Republishing recipes is not allowed without the author’s consent. Thanks!6
